Most people expect more when they come to Budapest
Recently, a luggage storage company conducted a survey on which cities disappoint and which pleasantly surprise tourists.
Radical Storage 826,000 affects one hundred of the world’s most popular cities and examines TripAdvisor reviews to find out where tourists experience the best healing. Paris syndromethat is, when the destination is big enough to be used for preliminary, often exaggerated, romantic expectations to disappoint.
The biggest disappointments
And according to the summary, this feeling is most often encountered by travelers in Orlando, America,
every fifth of its more than nine thousand reviews was negative. The keywords disappointed, terrible and rude were also frequently included in the comments. Crowds and increased prices are often mentioned in connection with the city’s attractions (this year, both Universal and Disneyland are increasing their entrance fees). Closely behind Orlando is Jakarta, Indonesia, where one in seven reviews was negative, followed by Pattaya, Thailand.
New York City is also on the negative list, where the biggest problem is caused by “rude” residents, according to reviews, while travelers most often called Da Nang in Vietnam “overrated” on the portal, where the word appears in 3.2 percent of reviews. Paris, the namesake of the syndrome, was still in first place in 2021, but has now finished in fourth place.
Pleasant surprises
On the other hand, there are also many cities that exceed travelers’ expectations and have real surprises in store for them. Summing up expressions such as “I was pleasantly surprised” or “wonderful”, Budapest received the most positive comments, with a rate of 96.17 percent. Most of the global reviews refer to the city as a “fascinating” and “beautiful” place.
Travelers mainly mention Budapest’s impressive architecture and the beauty of the Danube, which bisects the city.
After Budapest, Brussels received the second most positive evaluations, with a rate of 96.04 percent, followed by Zurich.
Trapped by scams
The analysis also reveals at which destinations the tourists were most likely to notice attempts to trick or rip them off, or perhaps the price-value ratio was poor for some services.
In terms of “scams”, Marrakech in Morocco received the most negative opinions (10.5 percent).
Orlando is also at the top, with 6.3 percent of reviews of the city mentioning that travelers have been cheated. therefore Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is next (3.9 percent). And in Singapore, tourists considered the price-value ratio of the attractions on offer to be poor.
Of course, there are also those who think that some of Budapest’s attractions are better they are overratedAnd Marrakesh underrated.
