“For me, having taken over the company, it gives me an extra boost. I create something, the whole team believes in it! ” A Saint-Calais (Sarthe), Sophie Dollon is in the starting blocks.
Fr January 2023the general manager of the company Timothy of St Louis/royal garden will launch a new brand, alongside the existing ones.
A 100% homemade creation
The difference ? It’s about a total creationand not the simple distribution of products as it normally does.
“The name has not yet been found, but we are launching a publishing activity in the field of decoration. We partner with four illustrators who offers designs and we let’s print on different supports : mugs, fans, trays, isothermal water bottles, cases, etc. »
gain independence
This Steps was born out of a need for the company to be more and more independent with respect to its suppliers. Many of them are located in the United States, so Calais society has to deal with a rise important of costs of logistics but also to a exchange rate repressing.
The economic situation makes the market uncertain. Last year, when we wanted to place an order with one of our suppliers, there was no response! We also know that our biggest supplier has been taken over, to our great surprise. This can bring changes and if tomorrow it stops, we will lose 25% of our turnover.
It is therefore this observation, together with a desire to propose more local productswhich led Sophie Dollon to “phosphorize”.
Objects illustrated by artists
To embark on the creation of illustrated objects, the manager met four illustrators who found themselves “with nothing, after the liquidation last summer from the company that was working. »
The beginning of their collaboration happened naturally, “it is above all a feeling story, meeting”, smiles Sophie Dollon. “They each have their universeand have a creative freedom on their drawings. »
A sale for Christmas
After equipping itself with specialized machines, the small company carried out his first attempts. Conclusive. The catalog is ready and will be presented at the Maison et Objet fair which will take place in Paris from January 19 to 23, 2023.
In the meantime, some creations will be offered in Christmas sale preview which will take place in the premises of Maison Royal Garden on Saturdays December 10 and 17 2022 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
