discover the districts of Dijon and the towns of Côte-d’Or most affected
The annual report of the Observatory of inequalities on poverty 2022-2023 has definitely pointed the tip of its nose. The publication was the subject of a press conference organized by the organization on Tuesday. This rich study, which encompasses the entire French territory, sheds detailed light on the situation of the Côte-d’Or and its various municipalities with regard to poverty.
Big differences between the districts of Dijon
The report is based on measurements of income and the poverty line (the latter being set at 60% of the median standard of living, i.e. €1,102 per month for 2019, after taxes and social benefits, for a single person).
Dijon reaches 11e rank in the ranking of the cities of Côte-d’Or studied, with a poverty rate equivalent to 15% of its population. But the results between the districts are very strong…
Chenôve and Châtillon-sur-Seine top the list
The city of the dukes is thus inserted between Talant (10e 15%) and Beaune (12e , 13%). The municipalities bordering the capital of the Dukes of Burgundy oscillate at different heights of the ranking, Chevigny-Saint-Sauveur ranking 19e with a poverty rate flirting with 9%. Plombieres-les-Dijon (15)e , 12%); Quetigny (13e 13%) and Longvic (9e 15%) also appearing in the data compiled by the observatory in its report, but still remaining quite far from Chenôve, first in the ranking with a poverty rate reached at around 25% of its population.
The town is still closely followed by Châtillon-sur-Seine (2e , 22%). Finally, Montbard closes the march on the podium by ranking third, with a poverty rate reached at 18%.
