A statue supporting the Russian dictator and war criminal Vladimir Putin as a goblin tightening the gas valve was placed on Interbrigády Square in Prague 6 this morning. The initiators symbolically placed the statue at the place where the monument to General Koněv stood. The goblin statue with Putin’s face will be in place for a month, then it will go up for auction, the proceeds of which will go to help Ukraine.
Goblin with the face of Putin
The author of the sculpture, which was created at the international symposium of blacksmiths in Helfštýn, is amateur sculptor and blacksmith Daniel Dostál. “We are prepared for the fact that if someone comes and repaints it, paints it or does it, it doesn’t bother us. That’s what counts. If someone breaks your car mirror because they’re just a moron, we’d feel the same way about people with lower intelligence who would want to damage it, it’s just part of life.” replied the author Daniel Dostal our editor on the spot to ask if she is afraid that someone will damage the work.
“The statue is extended by a goblin with the face of Putin, who has his right hand raised and his left hand at the gas valve. The statue is 157 centimeters tall and weighs 170 kilograms.” the co-author of the project Gift for Putin described the work to our editors Martin Ondraček.
With the statue, the initiators want to let the public know that Putin is being watched for the energy crisis. “Another reason is that we want to draw attention to the fact that just as he turned the tables on us, we also want to turn the tables on the Russian embassy in Prague. In addition, the statue is such a gift from Prague for all fighters to Ukraine on Tuesday’s Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.” said Ondráček.
A petition entitled “Let’s extinguish the Russian embassy in Prague” is circulating on the Internet. Its initiator is Martin Ondráček, co-author of the Gift for Putin project. The aim of the petition is to give Russian diplomats in Prague a taste of their own medicine. “No energy and…
Weapons for Ukraine will be purchased from the sale of the statue
The statue stands on náměstí Interbrigády in Prague 6, i.e. on the spot where the monument to General Koněv used to stand. “From the beginning, we wanted to place the statue in this place. We started this already on October 6, since then we have been pursuing all the stamps and permits that are related to it.” says Ondráček.
The statue will stand in place for a month, then it will go to auction, the proceeds of which will go to the account from which they buy weapons for the Ukrainian army. “We are happy that the Czech Republic is delivering, it should be an important signal to the Ukrainians that we are with them,” he told our editor on the spot Dalibor Grandpa from the initiative Weapons for Ukraine. “I think the amount of money will help, but this statue is special and I think the one that the statue will be auctioned for could be six figures,” he added.
