Carlos Santana, Tower of Power, Aretha Franklin and Rick James are just a few of the Soul/R&B legends credited with Ray Greene lending his silky smooth vocals. Now that Santana has to cancel his tour, Ray Greene is coming to De Duif with his five-piece band exclusively for the Netherlands: Maxazine presents: Ray Greene!
With his unknown album ‘Stay’ he effortlessly mixes Soul, R&B and Jazz, with which he once again makes it clear why these greats wanted to work with him. In addition to being an excellent vocalist, Ray is also an accomplished trombonist, as he has proven by appearing alongside the Tower of Power horn section on their last two releases and on Santana’s 2019 album ‘Africa Speaks’.
“Ray Greene in Tower of Power as lead singer and extraordinary trombonist was a blessing and a delight. He’s a talent to be reckoned with, and his million-dollar smile and irresistible personality win over people all over the world! Ray will always be a member of the ToP Family,” said Emilio Castillo, bandleader of Tower of Power. Carlos Santana agrees: “Having brother Ray Greene in the band takes us all to the spirit of the church and the streets, so soulful and sincere. We love and cherish him,” said Santana.
On April 22, Ray Greene will come exclusively to De Duif in Amsterdam for a one-off performance in the Netherlands.
