Simone and Gustave | Rouen.fr
The “Simone et Gustave” shop aims to restore the prestige of Rouen souvenirs. There are products bearing the image of the city’s two famous ambassadors, as well as some regional specialties selected with taste.
If Gustave Flaubert and Simone de Beauvoir had been able to meet in Rouen, at the same time, sure they would have met at 38 rue aux Ours. This is where a shop opened on July 20, in which visitors can find original posters, postcards, but also “Mimouna” lemonades, beers from La Manche, “Les Confiseurs” delicacies. or Bertrand’s gingerbread.
“I am a Rouennaise, attached to my city and my region. I also have a love of the land”, declares from the outset Delphine Josse, creator of the shop, run daily by Juliette (our photo). “During a trip to Budapest, the visit to a screen printing workshop ended up convincing me”, adds the one who works in communication elsewhere.
What catches the eye on the site, opens before the shop, and on site, are the graphic creations depicting the city, its monuments and… Gustave and Simone of course. On large or small posters, on postcards too. Variations signed by students from Iscom (Clémence, Baptiste, Léa or Adam), for the majority of them. And it pleases! Both tourists and Rouennais, understand both Simone and Gustave.
The place also seems ideal for offering very beautiful little baskets, made by the workers of the association Le pré de la baie, of regional products at Christmas. Compositions to make yourself. It is even possible to order your basket on the web and pick it up in store.
The icing on the cake, Simone and Gustave are offering an advent calendar, with a gift to be won every day from December 1, either on the website or directly at the store.
