Russia will not expel foreign grain traders – Agroinvestor
Russia will not expel foreign grain trading companies from its market, Minister of Economic Development Dmitry Patrushev said, Interfax writes. “We are working on this topic and there is a common position – we will not expel anyone,” the agency quotes him. “If colleagues want to leave themselves, then we will look for those who are ready to declare, and we will not expel anyone.”
At the end of September, the head of VTB Andrey Kostin invitation President Vladimir Putin to ban the purchase of consumer and oilseed enterprises dealing with unfriendly natural resources on the territory of our country. He also proposes to ban them from owning regulatory firms that restrict port consumption and storage. The proposal explained the ban on the actions of Russian traders in the world market.
Exporters from unfriendly countries own about 15% of the transshipment capacity of Russian ports in the Azov-Black Sea basin, which allows them to attract additional profit from the trade in organic grains, Kostin gathered in a letter from the head of state. At the same time, the Russian economy and budget receive less high density. The proposed ban, according to Kostin, will give Russia “a fundamental level of research into market pricing.” True, in November, Kostin said that he did not expect harsh measures against the Arab states operating in the country, but he believes that domestic companies need support.
Mandatory against restrictions on the work of Western grain traders in Russia increased Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS). Although the service was consistent with the state bank’s assessment of the situation on the grain market in Russia, it believes that in the context of high sanctions restrictions and high consumption, the ban consumed by VTB reduces the high efficiency indicators not only of Russian grain exports, but also of the agro-industrial complex as a whole.
