The Peace and Sport International Forum is in full swing
Partner of AS Monaco, Peace and Sport is organizing today and tomorrow the 13th edition of its International Forum
Since the beginning of the season, its logo featured on the back of Wissam Ben Yedder’s teammates jersey. The organization Peace and Sport organizes today its Annual International Forum.
Around the theme “Sport, a response for peace”, the 13th edition of this event brings together world experts to present how sport can offer a response to conflicts and divisions in the world.
Many round tables are organized throughout the day at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo.
George Weah, President of Liberia, first African Ballon d’Or (1995) and AS Monaco player between 1988 and 1992as well as two other footballing legends, Rai, President of the Gol de Letra Foundation and Didier Drogba, Vice-President of Peace and Sporttake part in discussions.
At their side, Félicité Rwemarika, member of the IOC and Founder & President ofRwandaShaima Al-Husseini, Managing Director of Sport for All (SFA)Paula Radcliffe, World Marathon Champion and Peace and Sport Peace Championor even Pascal Boniface, Founder & Director of IRISare some of the experts who intervene on the different themes of the program.

AS Monaco associated with the event
The General Manager of AS Monaco Jean-Emmanuel de Witt also took part in a round table and discussed the theme “Football for the Goals” with Maher Nasser, Director of Outreach Division at the United Nations Department of Global Communicationsas well as Laurent Prud’homme, Managing Director of group the team.

The day will end with the traditional Peace and Sport Awards ceremony during which 6 awards will be nominated: April6 Initiative of the Year, NGO of the Year, Institution of the Year, CSR Initiative of the Year, Champion for Peace of the Year and the Special Jury Prize.
Furthermore, yesterday, within the framework of the partnership between Peace and Sport and AS Monaco, the officials of the Saudi organization Sport for All (SFA) visited the Performance Center.

Peace and Sport launched this year with the Team the creation of the Socrates Prizea distinction awarded as part of the Ballon d’Or ceremony and rewarding a football player involved in societal and charitable projects.
