She saw nothing coming… Friday, November 18, 2022, a woman had her bank card stolen when leaving the store Fnac Toulouse Wilson. And the thieves managed to steal no less than 900 euros in a record time.
“I was going to buy myself some books…”
The day must have been fairly standard for Marie-Andree. “I was going to buy a few books at Fnac. I had it for 30 euros, ”she explains to Toulouse news. When paying, the TPE of the automatic checkout indicates that its contactless payment is refused.
Far from suspecting what was about to happen, she pulls out her card and enters her code. The trouble begins…
She looks at her accounts: it’s a cold shower
“At the time, I noticed that a lady had approached… But I didn’t pay too much attention to it”, admits the victim. According to her, this woman could have looked at her secret code.
“Once out of the store, I feel a presence… Someone touching me and hugging me. I turn around and see a very young girl. She must be 13 and is very skinny. She looks like a ‘apologize for touching me.
There again, she continues on her way as if nothing had happened… But when she gets home, Marie-Andrée realizes that she has no plus his card holder. Concentrating on the young girl, she hadn’t felt the pickpocket stealing her belongings. Worried, she decides to look at her bank account. And there is the cold shower…

“By the time I realized this and objected, they had already had time to cross the square to go to the vending machine. Credit Lyonnais, located just opposite Fnac”, testifies the victim. With the bank card and the secret code identified at Fnac, the thugs were able to withdraw 900 euros. Like nothing ever happened !
“These are people who seem to be used to it. They are well established…”
In this card holder, Marie-Andrée notably had her vital card and her card from the Council of the Order of Physicians. “I had to contact the Order because someone could make prescriptions with my numbers…”, she explains. A lot of paperwork in perspective.
While waiting to be reimbursed for the amount of his damage, the victim hopes that his testimony will allow others to avoid this misadventure.
