The Netherlands as group winner to the eighth final World Cup against Qatar

Sugar Mizzy November 29, 2022

The Dutch national team has become group winner of Group A on Friday thanks to a 2-0 win over Qatar World Cup crowned. The victory came about without any problems, but the Orange certainly did not swing. The final score is rusted on the board after just a few minutes.

As expected, the Dutch national team was immediately the team with the initiative, but the first goal attempt came from Qatar. Marten de Roon thought too easily and handed in the ball in a dangerous place. What followed was a shot from far, which Andries Noppert had no problem with. Almost immediately after this, the Orange became dangerous through Davy Klaassen and Daley Blind. The ball fell from the mess at the two Ajax players, but they don’t listen to get their foot against the ball. The Netherlands was constantly looking for a goal, but the game did not look judged yet. After fifteen minutes, Memphis Depay got a falling ball in front of his feet. He takes in the spectacular from the air, but aimed over.

After just over 25 minutes of play, there is a new chance for Memphis. Daley Blind gave him the ball after a good run from the attacker, but Memphis eventually a defender. Shortly after, the opening goal was commented. The Orange combined well through Memphis and Klaassen, except Cody Gakpo was able to take the ball. He played freely at speed and hit controlled. About five minutes before rust, the PSV player was able to try again from a promising position, but he shot from an offside position – as it turned out – over and wide. Memphis then has a long way to go for rust, but his attempt lacked strength and direction. With that, both teams went to rest at 1-0.

After rust in the Dutch national team, a second goal is soon due. After a long pass from Klaassen, Memphis shot at the keeper, but it was Frenkie de Jong who was alert in the rebound and worked inside. Louis van Gaal made his first substitution after just over an hour. Memphis would not play more than sixty minutes and leave the field for Vincent Janssen. Klaassen also went out, but the Ajax level was maintained. It was submerged Steven Berghuis who came in for him.

Berghuis then did not need much time to find the net. The Dutch broke out, with substitute Janssen placing the ball wide on the Ajax player, who came in at the same time. He scored, but the goal was rejected after a grab from the VAR. Gakpo is said to have made the attacking hands at an earlier stage. In the remainder of the game, the concentration of the Orange and with it the sloppiness increased. The final phase is then mainly dominated by substitutions on both sides, but that did not change anything in the game image – let the final score stand. Berghuis did shoot the ball at the intersection with a lot of feeling and Kenneth Taylor was allowed to make his World Cup debut, but the third goal did not come. The Dutch national team reached the group stage of the World Cup with a 2-0 win over Qatar.
