9 former Mello artists
Most of the first 14 participants in Melodifestivalen 2023 have competed in the competition before. One of them is a former Eurovision representative:
- February 4: Round 1 (Gothenburg)
- February 11: Round 2 (Linköping)
- February 18: Round 3 (Lidköping)
- February 25: Round 4 (Malmö)
- March 4: Semi-final (Örnsköldsvik)

Melodifestivalen 2023 will follow almost the same format as 2022. 7 songs will compete in each of the 4 heats; 2 qualify directly for the final and another 2 qualify for the semi-final. In the semi-finals, 8 songs will compete and the best 4 songs will qualify for the final.
Hosts for all shows will be Jesper Rönndahl and Farah Abadi.
