Removing asphalt at the Ketelmakerij
From 5 to 9 December we will remove the asphalt at the Ketelmakerij. Then fill the area with soil. We make a provisional path along the backyards and sow temporary grass. This winter we will initially plant 8 trees.
At De Ketelmakerij we green the public space. Several things come together here. From nuisance reports around the football cage, we spoke a lot in 2021 with local residents, young people, police, enforcers and youth workers. The public space is now not inviting for everyone to stay and meet.
conjugator create public space
Because everyone is allowed to play and relax in the public space, we keep the football cage. Together with the neighbourhood, we look at limited options that make the public space more attractive. Earlier this year, the municipal project organization organized an inspection and on 12 July a residents’ evening was held about the sketch design for the public space.
What do we do?
We have a budget for 2022 to remove the asphalt plate of 975 m2 in advance. We then fill the public space with soil and then temporarily collapse it. If we don’t collect the budget for this year, the money is gone. That is why we are already getting started. We will also plant some of the trees as stated in the preliminary design, due to the planting season and in anticipation of further uncertainty with you.
When
The work to remove the asphalt is expected to last from 5 to 9 December. The work is expected to take 3 weeks in total.
What do you notice?
Work is done daily. We need two parking spaces for work and we do not expect construction traffic to hinder you. Noise nuisance is expected during the breaking and removal of the asphalt. We ask you to keep a sufficient distance from the work when parking. You remain accessible, also through the backyards with exit to the street.
final design
If you have any ideas the design then you can respond by e-mail to the project leader [email protected] until Thursday 15 December. Answered note and also the ideas that are still being considered by the District Council when deciding on the preliminary design at the beginning of 2023.
Once the design has been definitively adopted administratively, we will implement it in the second half of 2023. We will also continue to discuss progress, current events and proposed measures.
