5,445 tests (PCR and antigens) were created, which is 4,620 more than the 825 reported days earlier. Such a percentage of positive samples changes – from 5.57% to 5.28 percent.

The most cases in the last 24 hours were found again in the city of Sofia – 70, followed by Plovdiv with 32. The fewest recent cases were in Razgrad and Targovishte – 2 each.
For the day, 5083 antigen tests were performed, of which 267 were positive, i.e. 5.25% positive samples. In comparison, in the previous report there were 734 antigen tests, of which 44 were positive, i.e. 5.99%. There were 362 PCR tests, of which 21 were positive, i.e. 5.8%. In the previous report, there were 91 tests of this type, of which 2 were positive, i.e. 2.19 percent.
Total confirmed cases are 1,286,872. 3,766,269 PCR and 7,046,903 antigen tests were performed (a total of 10,813,172)with the average percentage of positive samples since the beginning of the pandemic being 11.90 percent – unchanged on a daily basis.
Active cases are decreasing and there are already 5196, which is 248 less than the previous report. According to an expert, the huge drop in early July, when active infections fell by about 90,000 in two weeks, is explained by the fact that there have been many unreported recoveries in the past two years and especially during the peaks of the previous waves, when the regional RHIs were extremely busy, due to which the real numbers are not taken into account, and now this indicator is being corrected.
The number of hospitalized persons also decreases, as they are 415 – by 45 less (56 were admitted to hospital, 101 were discharged). For comparison, during the worst days of the pandemic in October last year, more than 7,200 patients were treated in hospitals. Patients admitted to intensive care units were 56 – again unchanged on a daily basis. Exactly occupancy of intensive care beds is one of the main criteria for tightening the measures in our country, and not, as before, the number of infected persons or active cases.

Due to the reduction of workload in intensive sectors, from March 21 the green certificate has dropped completely. And with the arrival of the fifth official cabinet, appointed by Rumen Radev, it became clearthat every week an expert council will report the most important data and decide if and what measures will be taken.
