Hamid Djadda has the well-known ones, but after a long vacancy they are very dilapidated AVUS– Grandstand (1936-37) renovated and upgraded for a new use. Despite the poor condition of the building, Mr. Djadda managed to preserve large areas of the original structure. In addition, he managed to find a tenant for the barely usable monument. Hamid Djadda has thus reproduced one of its most important landmarks in Berlin.

IVY eV opened restorations and acquired third-party funds for monument projects and runs very active public relations work around the cemetery. IVYs greatest success is the grave sponsorship program for the preservation of historical graves by godparents who later want to be buried there themselves.

Culture Senator Dr. Klaus Lederer will present the awards on November 30, 2022 in the Old Town Hall. At the presentation of the Ferdinand von Quast medals to the two prizewinners, Dr. Klaus Lederer, Senator for Culture and Europe: “We have every reason to support people like Hamid Djadda or the members of IVY eV to be very grateful.
