The crème de la crème of the world’s gastronomy present in Luxembourg
In Luxembourg, Expogast only takes place every 4 years, like the football world cup. This meeting, which brings together the best of gastronomy, is both a global cooking competition and a trade fair for gastronomy professions.
The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is hosting the 14th edition of the Culinary World Cup until November 30. A major event in the world of gastronomy which only takes place every 4 years. For 5 days, 2,600 cooks and culinary pastry chefs divided into several categories compete in an extraordinary competition.
The cooking competition is really like the World Cup, it’s unique. Not to be missed if you like gastronomy or if you are a cook”
Ben Weber, from the organizing committee
A global competition in the sense that competitors from 55 nations come from 5 continents. “Expogast is one of the biggest world events, the 2nd biggest exhibition dedicated to gastronomy.” explains Ben Weber of the organizing committee. “The cooking competition is really like the World Cup, it’s unique. Not to be missed if you like gastronomy or if you are a cook“.
But Expogast does not just bring together the most talented Chefs, this event also offers many visitors the opportunity to discover new trends in world gastronomy and give pride of place to the art of living. Demonstration of molecular cuisine, competition for young cooks, show-cooking by renowned Chefs and demonstrations of sculptures complete the gastronomic competitions.
4 years ago during the last edition, 45,000 visitors had encountered the aisles of this event and it was Sweden that had won the first prize in the gastronomic competition. Not really a surprise insofar as for several years already, it is the Chefs of the Nordic countries who are the best placed during the major international cooking competitions such as the Bocuse d’Or Monde. Even if in 2021 during the last edition, it was the French Davy Tissot who had beaten the Danish Ronni Mortensen.
