Information on the Facebook profile about the reconstruction of the Podolské path for pedestrians and cyclists

The modification of the Podolsk path for pedestrians and cyclists is in the final stage. Complicated dodging in tight spots or jumping over holes and undulating terrain will soon be a thing of the past.

We are expanding this popular city promenade up to 5.5 meters where possible, and of course taking care to preserve mature trees. Over three thousand cyclists and another thousands of skaters and pedestrians use the road every day, such as seniors, people with strollers or children on bouncers, and their safety is our top priority. And we’re also working on improving comfort, which is why we’re adding new benches, trash cans, and bike racks.

We used a special sand-colored asphalt for the new surface. This was chosen with regard to the historical context and natural character. In addition, the light surface will not overheat on hot days compared to ordinary asphalt.

Now we are finishing the first, about a kilometer long stage near the Podolský vodárne. This will be followed up by work up to the MOL gas station and the Vyšehrad tunnel in the spring. We are coordinating everything so that the work is finished by the end of May and does not interfere with the main cycling season.
