La Bohème in Toulouse, Brahms and César Franck in Tours, and “Classic Passions” with the ONDIF in Ile-de-France
One of Puccini’s masterpieces with a fine French cast at the Capitole, the Piano Concerto No. 1 from Brahms to Tours, and a tour of the Ile-de-France National Orchestra in the Ile-de-France: here is Radio Classique’s selection of concerts not to be missed this week.
From November 26 to December 6: Bohemian from Puccini to Toulouse
” Bohemian is the ideal book to learn about opera. A work of irresistible emotional power, a simply brilliant moment of music. This is how Christophe Ghristi, Artistic Director of the National Capitol Opera defines Puccini’s masterpiece, which will be on view from this Saturday. As very often in Toulouse, the cast gives pride of place to French singers. Vannina Santoni and Anaïs Constans will alternate in the role of Mimi. Marie Perbost will be Musetta, Jérôme Boutillier Marcello and Julien Véronèse Colline. The role of Rodolfo will be sung by Liparit Avetisyan and Azer Zada. The Orchester national du Capitole will be conducted by Lorenzo Passerini in a staging by Renaud Doucet who set the action in the 1920s. Classic Radio Sunday, December 18 at 9 p.m.

Brahms and Caesar Frank are playing this weekend by the Orchester Symphonique Région Centre-Val de Loire-Tours conducted by Franck Villard. Brahms first with the Piano Concerto No. 1 played by Philippe Cassard. It is a work of youth over which hovers the shadow of Clara Schumann “I make a sweet portrait of you in the Adagio,” Brahms wrote to him. Then César Franck with one of his last works, the Symphony in D minor, the composer’s only symphony written two years before his death. Badly received at its creation, it is today one of his most famous compositions. This concert will be broadcast on Classic Radio Monday, November 28 at 8 p.m.

From 27 November to 4 December: Ile-de-France tour for the Orchester national d’Ile-de-France with Prokofiev, Mozart and Mendelssohn
No less than five concerts in one week for the Orchester national d’Ile-de-France, with “Classical fantasies”! Faithful to its mission, the ONDIF brings music to life as close as possible to the inhabitants of the Ile-de-France region: Choisy-le-Roi, Elancourt, Orly and Bonneuil-sur-Marne. Paris will not be forgotten with a concert this Tuesday at the Cité de la Musique. The program is the same, with three major works from the repertoire: La Symphony No. 1 “Classical” of Prokofiev, the Violin Concerto °3 of Mozart played by the Norwegian violinist Eldbjorg Hemsing and the Symphony No. 4 “Italian” of Mendelssohn. At the helm, Estonian chef Anu Tali. The Parisian concert will be broadcast on Classic Radio Sunday, December 11 at 9 p.m.
