Enel Russia was renamed into EL5-Energo
At the extraordinary meeting of shareholders of Enel Russia, a number of decisions were made, including the renaming of Enel Russia to EL5-Energo. Enel closed the deal to sell its stake in Enel Russia to LUKOIL and the Gazprombank-Freesia fund on 12 October.
“The charter was approved in a new edition, which involves changing the company name of PJSC Enel Russia to public joint-stock company EL5-Energo and switching to the domain www.el5-energo.ru,” — informs company based on shareholder voting. Changes in the charter come into force for third parties from the moment of state registration, also reported in the company.
On September 30, President Vladimir Putin, by his arrest, allowed LUKOIL and the Gazprombank-Freesia investment fund to acquire the Italian Enel’s share in Enel Russia.
Enel is the largest energy company in Italy and one of the largest companies in the world. In 2021, Enel’s net profit received €3.2 billion.
According to Reuters, the final amount of losses on the sale of Enel’s assets reaches $133 million. Earlier, Enel estimated the sales of its stake in Enel Russia at €527 million.
According to Bloomberg Intelligence, founded in 2004, Enel’s Russian business held just over 1% of the company’s total gross profit.
