GAUSSIN – GAUSSIN awarded as part of the ‘Monaco Prize for innovation in the field of renewable hydrogen and transport’ for its H2 Mobility As A Service offer – 24/11/2022 – 08:45
The Monaco Hydrogen Forum rewarded GAUSSIN among 8 finalists selected for their innovation in the decarbonization via hydrogen of maritime transport
GAUSSIN (EURONEXT GROWTH: ALGAU – FR0013495298), a pioneer in the transport of clean and smart goods and people, announces that it has won the “Best Cross-Sector Applicability” prize at the Monaco Prize for innovation in the field of renewable hydrogen and transport, as part of the Monaco Hydrogen Forum, organized on November 21 and 22, 2022 in Monaco by the Monaco Hydrogen Alliance association. This prize rewards GAUSSIN’s ability to decarbonize maritime and port activities through hydrogen mobility, through its global H2 Mobility As A Service (MAAS) offer.
GAUSSIN’s H2 Mobility As A Service offer rewarded
GAUSSIN presented at the Monaco Hydrogen Forum its H2 Mobility As A Service (H2 MAAS) offer, which aims to accelerate the development of hydrogen mobility in ports. The H2 MAAS offer is based on GAUSSIN’s know-how in the transport sector since 1880 and in clean, electric and hydrogen mobility since 2013. It allows operators to focus on their core business: transporting people, goods, yachting, logistics or port operations. As an expert in fleet management, GAUSSIN offers complete project implementation, product supply, fleet management and operation, thus enabling a “turnkey” service for the end user.
Depending on the specific needs of each client, the offer covers all or part of the following elements:
- Production and distribution of green hydrogen in the port, in its environment or at sea
- Transformation of boats allowing electric and hydrogen propulsion, via the technology developed in the Powerpack® by Gaussin
- Service and operation of boats and all facilities
- All additional services related to the exploitation of the H2 ecosystem.
The H2 MAAS project should make it possible to accelerate the deployment of hydrogen-powered maritime mobility by offering a global solution to port and yachting operators. GAUSSIN promotes the creation of an ecosystem that combines H2 value chains and responds to the difficulty of users to obtain supplies of equipment, services and raw materials at the same time. The development of a “turnkey” offer thus allows customers to confine themselves to their activity, ie operation.
Ports represent an important ecosystem for the development of the hydrogen value chain, and a promising market for GAUSSIN. While most initiatives related to the development of hydrogen mobility concern large-scale projects, GAUSSIN is betting on local projects on closed sites, which constitute the ideal environment for rapid implementation of the ecosystem.
A prestigious award for innovation in hydrogen
The Monaco Hydrogen Forum, the first edition of which has just concluded, is organized by Monaco Hydrogen Alliance, a non-profit association under Monegasque law aimed at promoting the use of green hydrogen in land, air and maritime transport. It brings together major public and private hydrogen operators, industry leaders in transport and mobility, and policy makers to accelerate innovation in the hydrogen value chain. Given the Principality of Monaco’s commitment to safeguarding the oceans, the Forum focused in particular on the challenge of decarbonising maritime transport through fuel cell technologies.
In this context, the Forum organized a competition open worldwide to candidates who develop or propose innovative solutions to advance renewable hydrogen in the maritime mobility value chain. This competition brought together 8 finalists and concluded with the presentation, by HSH Prince Albert II, of the Monaco Prize for innovation in the field of renewable hydrogen and transport (Monaco Prize for Innovation in Renewable Hydrogen and Transport).
” GAUSSIN is once again rewarded for its expertise in hydrogen and its ability to innovate in favor of carbon-free mobility. With the project that we presented at the Forum, and for which we are very proud to be awarded this prize, we aim to offer port and maritime players a global solution to decarbonize their activities while focusing on their core business. I thank the Monaco Hydrogen Forum for its support, which announces promising prospects for our activities in hydrogen and the decarbonization of maritime transport. », declares Christophe Gaussin, CEO of GAUSSIN.
