Another Last Renovation action in Toulouse, Boulevard de Marengo blocked at rush hour
Environmental activists from the Last Renovation collective blocked Boulevard Marengo of Toulouse for half an hour this Thursday morning before being dislodged by the police. Six of them chained themselves on either side of the road. The action begins around 8:35 a.m. and ends shortly after 9 a.m. The police cut the chains which bound the militants with a grinder.

They thus intend to signal the inaction in the face of the climate emergency**. Last Renovation activists are calling on the government to take action for the environment and launch a major energy renovation campaign for buildings to combat climate change. The action symbolically took place in front of the headquarters of Toulouse Métropole.
Six of the activists were arrested around 9:15 a.m. and taken to the Toulouse police station. They were to be presented to a judicial police officer with a view to possible placement in police custody for traffic obstruction.
Previously, on November 5, two activists burst onto the pitch in the middle of a match between Stade Toulousain and Stade Français at Ernest Wallon. They had attached themselves to the goal posts. Last week, Last Renovation activists also blocked the Toulouse ring road.
