Prague donates heaters, power plants and medical equipment to Ukraine, representatives approved — ČT24 — Czech Television
According to the previously approved document, Prague will send four hundred heaters and ten power plants to Kyiv and over two hundred heaters and eight power plants to Mykolaiv. The Administration of Services of the Capital City of Prague, which is a contributory organization of the metropolis, originally purchased the equipment to deal with crisis situations, but according to the press, it will not endanger the preparedness of the metropolis in any way.
“For the sake of completeness, this is equipment that has not been used for many years and is becoming obsolete,” the document says.
The method of transportation is being resolved
According to Hřiba, the acquisition value of the equipment was fifteen million crowns. One hundred and forty heaters and two power plants will remain in service management. “The method of transportation is currently being resolved,” said Hřib. He added that the equipment takes up three hundred and fifty euro pallets.
The representatives also approved another donation from Ukraine in the form of medical supplies, i.e. masks, gloves, protective glasses and shields, thermometers, needles and syringes for about three quarters of a million crowns.
Russia launched a military attack on Ukraine on February 24 this year. Since mid-October, Ukraine has been subject to extensive shelling of its energy infrastructure. Last week’s attacks severely damaged the country’s power grid. With temperatures dropping and the war still ongoing, the Ukrainian government has urged citizens who have fled the country not to return just yet.
