Prague 2 provides a security event See you? | PRAGUE 2 | News
To see, but above all to be well seen, that should be the motto of every pedestrian outside the city and in the city. Reflective elements in particular help with this. We are looking forward to the event “See you?” in cooperation with BESIP organizations, the city police and the Prague 2 district at Jan Masaryk Primary School.
“The event takes place in practically all elementary schools in Prague 2, but also in some parks. We have prepared approximately five thousand reflective elements, whether they are reflective pendants, reflective tapes or badges, which help in the visibility of children,” explains Prague 2 district councilor Michal Zuna (TOP 09).
The children then learned on the spot from the city police officers when they should wear such safety reflective elements.
“Any time in reduced visibility. Reduced visibility is not only in the morning, when it is difficult to see, but it is also, for example, in the rain, in fog or in the summer, when it gets cloudy, so there is also reduced visibility, because it means a change in conditions for the driver. However, we can use the reflective elements at any time in the afternoon, we will certainly never damage anything,” advises prevention officer of the city police, Lukáš Kačerovský.
At the same time, it is also important how to wear reflective elements correctly.
“In the city, it is most important to wear safety features in the lower part of the body and primarily on the left or right, because we enter the road as pedestrians and need to be seen by drivers from the right or left,” assures Lukáš Kačerovský, prevention officer of the city police.
There are many reflective elements, but according to preventionists, the best elements are those that we don’t have to think about at all, for example special reflective laces, thanks to which you will be able to see very well for the driver even at great distances.
“If someone is wearing reflective elements, they can be seen at least two hundred to two twenty meters away, thanks to which the driver can react in time and stop safely with a sufficient distance,” concludes Lukáš Kačerovský, preventive officer of the city police.
Event See you? it was held in Prague 2 for the second time and the district will certainly continue it, because preventive safety measures that can save human life, especially children’s, always make sense.
