Organizing this event in Toulouse are the Fédération Française des Motards en Angère de Haute-Garonne, the FFMC branch of 09 and 11, the Fédération Bikers de France Délégation d’Occitanie, Macadam Passion and the Club des Corsairs.

” After ten years of dispute and consultation, the FFMC supposes the chapter of the technical control finally closed, on July 26. (…) It was not counting the lobbying, with the Council of State” estimated the organizers of the demonstration. “The Council of State, by judging the alternative measures as simple ineffective proposals, went out of its role by ordering the State to cancel the repeal of the technical control. »

A decision of the Council of State

In a decision handed down on October 31, the Council of State demanded that the State set up the technical control of two wheels since it is a European directive. “The Council of State today judges that the decision taken by the Government, on July 25, to reconsider the application of the technical control to two-wheelers which it had initially decided in August 2021, is illegal”, writes the institution. “Indeed, the measures since proposed by the Government to derogate from the European obligation of technical inspection do not comply with the requirements of Directive 2014/45/EU of April 3, 2014, because they are only in the state of projects or because they do not make it possible to improve the safety of motorcyclists on the road in a sufficiently effective and significant manner. »

The organizations calling for the demonstration in Toulouse also recall that ” Toulouse is a metropolis that can be proud of not having waited for alternative measures to act in favor of the safety of motorcyclists and a peaceful sharing of the road”.

They give as an example the experimental installation of a sound radar on rue Planaroad education for young people in several colleges in the department, information and awareness-raising actions in companies or even experimentation with the interfile on the territory.
