What is descent on demand?
With the publication of the mobility orientation law (LOM) at the end of 2019, then the implementing decree of October 19, 2020, the State encourages the implementation of the “Descent on demand” between two bus stops, in order to bring a new weapon against sexist and sexual violence in the public space.
This system consists of offering any traveler, particularly when he is likely to experience a feeling of insecurity, to ask the driver to get off between two bus stops in order to be closer to his destination.
The service allows anyone in a vulnerable situation who requests it, to get off between two stops.
Set up in the evening and at night, the on-demand descent service reassures by avoiding excessively long walks. From Friday November 25, 2022, Tisséo is rolling out this service to all Linéos in the evening, i.e. between 10 p.m. and 12:30 a.m.
What is the role of the driver?
The stopping of a bus and the descent of a person outside the materialized stopping points are only possible if the conditions make it possible to ensure their safety, that of the passengers present in the vehicle, of the the) driver.
The driver is responsible for the safety of people until they get out of the vehicle, and of other road users outside the bus (pedestrians, two-wheelers, motorists).
He/she decides on the effectiveness of the request in respect of the route of the line and the possible descent zones, beforehand, according to specific criteria: sufficient lighting, area of unobstructed visibility, stabilized surface without parking vehicles, adapted pedestrian path near the descent zone, etc.
Instructions for the descent on request on the QR Code opposite or on the website www.tisseo.fr.
Tisséo joins “Ask Angela”
Tisséo Voyageurs has joined the “Ask for Angela” scheme launched by Toulouse City Hall. The aim is to establish a network of safe places (bars, hotels, shops, establishments open to the public, etc.) throughout Toulouse, to allow a person who does not feel safe, or sent harassed, to find refuge in one of the partner establishments. She will be able to ask for “Angela” in these places identified by the stickers on their windows. These stickers will soon be affixed to the windows of Tisséo Voyageurs sales agencies (Arènes, Aéroport, Basso Cambo, Borderouge, Jean Jaurès and Marengo-SNCF). Knowing that sales agencies are already involved in securing the safety of a victim of harassment on the network as part of Tisséo’s approach against harassment and gender-based violence.
