ALL ANTWERP. “They now weigh 50 kilograms, but they are actually just teenagers” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer choose a casual passerby from the street for a nice conversation. Because everyone has a story. Especially in Antwerp. Today: Karel Leiner (48).

“Ollie and Lokie are now 14 months old. Just teenagers really. They still need to grow a bit. A little in height, but mainly in width. They now both weigh about 50 kilos. But adult males easily weigh 70 to 80 kilos. And they are both males.”
“I never had dogs before, but a friend also had a Leonberger. I thought that was such a cool dog that I went to a breeder. Originally the intention was to go one dog, but in the end I came home with two sweet little puppies.”
“I now live with them in a ground floor apartment with a small city garden. If they don’t meet other dogs they want to play with, they are actually very calm animals. Every day I take them for a long walk and make sure they can enjoy themselves on the dog meadow. That’s how they have their movement. But in fact they mostly sleep a lot. About 14 to 15 hours a day.”
“When I walk them down the street, we do get some attention. Sometimes people ask if they can take a picture. Not only Belgians, but also tourists from Japan or people from Ukraine. Yes, these two great friends go around the world.”
