Hanover Scorpions also conquer the horse tower
Reading time: approx. 6 minutes
Behind the leader of the table are the Crocodiles, who were able to build up some distance on the third, the Herner Miners, with the win against Hamm. However, Herner, like the fifth-placed Indians, still have two catch-up games, so it can get pretty tight in the chasing group. Leipzig ranks between Herne and Indianer. And the leading group still has two members. A point behind the Indians the Trapper and Hall. The EG Diez-Limburg ranks between the worlds. Limburg have a seven lead over Halle and a nine lead over Herford. This really great placement should finally ensure that the hall is really full on November 20th against Tilburg. Behind Limburg three teams with the same number of points and another just one point behind. Herford, Duisburg, Hamm and Essen are battling for ninth place. Excitement is guaranteed. There will be an alleged six-point game for the Erfurt team in Herford on Sunday. The Thuringians are eight points behind Essen and urgently need to catch up if the pre-play-offs are not to be written off prematurely. And last but not least, something has happened at the end of the table. For the first time, the Krefeld stormed the Essen Fortress and passed the Red Lantern on to the Baltic Sea, to the Rostock piranhas.
Hanover Indians – Hanover Scorpions 2: 5 (1: 2, 1: 0, 0: 3)
Hope dies last. The Indians went into the game with a good dose of self-confidence, in front of 4,608 spectators, wanted their first home win against their local rivals since January 2019, when they scored 3-0. In the end, however, the guests came out on top again for the eleventh time in a row. Two things were crucial. First of all, they got into the party much faster than the hosts. Scorpions coach Gaudet: “The Indians were pretty nervous at the beginning of the first third. With a bit of luck, we were able to take advantage of the deficit.” This shook the Indians up and they launched the first gentle attacks in front of a full house before the score was suddenly only 1:2. Branislav Pohanka uses an assist from Bacek to connect. It was the Indians’ first goal against their old rivals in almost a year and two-and-a-half games after two clean sheets. Absolute caution seemed to be the motto of both teams in the second half. Both stalked each other, switched to defense the quickest and so the only question was whether a goal would be scored at all. And it is, on the Indian side, when Sebastian Christmann was able to defeat one of the best guests, Scorpions goalkeeper Brett Jaeger, with a brilliant shot. As a result, there was a balanced game to see, with the hardships also increasing somewhat. The decision comes in the 46th minute. With a lucky shot, ex-Indian Christoph Koziol defeated Indian keeper Jan Dalgic to make it 3-2. After that, the Indians tried everything, but failed because of the hard-nosed defense of the league leaders and when Indians coach Lenny Soccio made his last option, replacing goalkeeper Dalgic with a sixth field player, the company went completely in the pants. The clever guests used the home side’s problem to score two empty nets, so that in the end a happy victory was achieved, which was too high in terms of the result but not undeserved.
Goals: 0:1 (03:11) Allan McPherson (Alderson, Aquinas), 0:2 (14:37 5-4) Allan McPherson, 1:2 (19:38) Branislav Pohanka (Bacek), 2:2 ( 35:00) Sebastian Christmann (Aichinger), 2:3 (46:00) Christoph Koziol (Klöpper, Reiß), 2:4 (58:12) Allan McPherson (Reiss, Heinrich ENG), 2:5 (59:48 ). ) Louis Trattner (McPherson, Alderson ENG)
Tilburg Trappers – Icefighters Leipzig 2: 5 (1: 2, 1: 1, 0: 2)
With a strong performance, the people of Leipzig took a surprising three points and were rewarded with fourth place in the end. The outstanding player was Jonas Wolter, who scored three shots, all three at psychological times (1:1, 3:1 and 4:2). Brett Bulmer, who was signed for the injured Virttanen, played for the first time at Tilburg but could not yet shine.
Goals: 1-0 (00:58) Sean Richards (Hermens, van Oorschot), 1-1 (01:47) Jonas Wolter (Burns, Riekkinen), 1-2 (11:21) Erek Virch (Piskor, Farrell) , 1: 3 (30:58) Jonas Wolter (Sauer, Heyter), 2: 3 (33:01) Reno de Hondt (van der Schuit, Verkiel 5: 4), 2: 4 (56:28) Jonas Wolter ( Burns, Heyter 5-4), 2:5 (58:48) Joonas Riekkinen (Burns 4-6)
Crocodiles Hamburg – Hammer Eisbären 6: 4 (0: 2, 3: 0, 3: 2)
A work victory for the Crocodiles, who apparently underestimated their opponent at the beginning. The Hammers started with a double strike, but had to give it up again after two minutes in the second period. When Hamburg finally pulled away to 4:2, this seemed a preliminary decision, but the powerful Hammer continued to show presence and kept the game open until one minute before the end. Then the player of the day, Hamburg’s Niklas Jentsch, scored his third goal of the day, an empty netter, to make it 6:4.
Goals: 0: 1 (05:21) Chris Schutz (Balla, Lichnovsky), 0: 2 (06:57) Marcel Limböck (Rosenthal, Ortwein), 1: 2 (20:49) Niklas Jentsch (Lascheit, Rajala), 2: 2 (21:01) Adam Domogalla (Spöttel, Schaludek), 3: 2 (27:17) Niklas Jentsch (Rajala, Lascheit), 4: 2 (41:13) Maximilian Spöttel (Domogalla, Schaludek), 4: 3 (41:46) Tim Marek (Balla, Schütz 5:4), 5:3 (51:59) Adam Domogalla (Spöttel, Schaludek), 5:4 (58:14) Samuel Dotter (Reuss), 6:4 (59:16) Niklas Jentsch (Lascheit, Rajala ENG)
Rostock Piranhas – EG Diez-Limburg 3: 7 (0: 4, 1: 0, 2: 3)
You don’t win games in the penalty box. This wise statement WILL certainly give Rostockers food for thought, because opponents Diez-Limburg punished Rostock’s negligence in the first third with four goals from four chances. 100 percent success rate. A rarity in ice hockey and especially in the Oberliga Nord. After that, Rostock came into play a little better, tried everything after the 2:4 in the third period and were then countered by ice-cold Limburg. While in Rostock the highest commitment and the moral premier league standards held up, in Diez-Limburg it was Fedor Kolupaylo and the Latvians Egils Kalns, Sandis Zolmanis and Niko Lehtonen who showed the best performances.
Goals: 0: 1 (06:42) Egils Kalns (Kolupaylo, Zolmanis 5: 4), 0: 2 (07:55) Fedor Kolupaylo (Chargeman, Kalns 5: 4), 0: 3 (08:28) Egils Kalns (Kolupaylo, Zolmanis 5:4), 0:4 (19:29) Niko Lehtonen (Bajaruns, Zolmanis 5:4), 1:4 (36:06) Keegan Dansereau (Barry), 2:4 (40:29) Matthew Barry (Dansereau, Renke), 2-5 (46:35) Niko Lehtonen (Kardas, King), 3-5 (47:02) Dante Hahn (Barry), 3-6 (50-40) Laurins Bajaruns (Zolmanis , Valenti 4:5), 3:7 (58:58) Fedor Kolupaylo (Steffen, Kardas)
Black Dragons Erfurt – Saale Bulls Halle 2: 6 (1: 2, 0: 1, 1: 3)
In a visually quite balanced game, the favorite team from Halle prevailed, albeit a bit too high for one. Erfurt took the lead relatively early on, but had to realize during the course of the encounter that the Saale Bulls were firmly on the defensive and patiently awaited their attacking chances. So it was only a matter of time before the Bulls would turn the result. In the end, the guests deservedly won and the real winners for the Bulls were Mathieu Tousignant, Tatu Vihavainen and Sergei Stas, who together scored nine points.
Goals: 1: 0 (02:11) Nolan Redler (Kälble, Reich), 1: 1 (08:22) Tatu Vihavainen (Tousignant, Schmid), 1: 2 (18:24) Sergei Stas (Pfennings, Valasek), 1: 3 (31:19) Matias Varttinen (Vihavainen, Tousignant), 1: 4 (44:24) Sergei Stas (Gulda, Schütt), 2: 4 (44:35) Reto Schuepping (Bezouska, Winkelmann), 2: 5 (48:30) Dennis Gulda (Stas, Tousignant), 2: 6 (52:55) Tatu Vihavainen (Varttinen, Schuett)
Mosquitoes Essen – Krefeld EV U23 2: 3 (0: 2, 1: 0, 1: 1)
Ironically, in this difficult table constellation, the Essen Moskitos allowed themselves a break. They conceded the first home defeat against the second agency of Krefeld EV since November 2012, when there was a 3:6.
Goals: 0:1 (02:42) Martin Schymainski, 0:2 (04:18) Carter McLlwain, 1:2 (36:24) Sam Coatta (Schneider, Zajic), 1:3 (49:02) Niclas Focks (Stephens, McLlwain), 2:3 (50:40) Tim Junge (K.Bruijsten, M.Bruijsten)
Herner EV Knappen – Herforder EV 5: 1 (2: 0, 2: 1, 1: 0)
A well-deserved success for the Miners with not quite 1,000 spectators, but it was one goal too high. The Herforders played along quite well, but could never really endanger the Herners. In addition, there are two goals that probably broke the neck of the East Westphalians. Once the 2:0 outnumbered when newcomer Elvis Biezaijs picked up a pass from Hüfner and then placed the disc in the goal of Herford keeper Justin Schrörs. And the 4:1 by Nicolas Cornett, exactly 11 seconds after Stefan Dreyer’s consolation goal. The best players at Herne were Benjamin Hüfner, Leon Köhler and Nicolas Cornett, each with two points, and goalkeeper Björn Linda, who after the debacle against the Scorpions achieved a remarkable 95.2 percent catch rate.
Goals: 1: 0 (07:26) Lars Stelzmann (Köhler, Cornett), 2: 0 (15:09) Elvis Biezaijs (Hüfner, Elten 4-5), 3: 0 (25:03) Nils Liesegang, 3: 1 (36:01) Stefan Dreyer (Berezowskij, Garten), 4: 1 (36:12) Nicolas Cornett (Köhler, Hüfner), 5: 1 (41:20) Dennis Swinnen (Biezaijs, Shmyr 5-4)
