Poland is safe, but with incidents
Poland is safe insofar as it is not a simple object, but it follows that there is a probability of an incident – trusted deputy defense minister Marcin Ociepa.
Marcin Ociepa claims that Russia is responsible for the deaths of two Polish units in Przewodów (Lubelskie Voivodeship), also if it is proved that they were killed by a Ukrainian air defense missile.
“At this point, we can rest assured that today Poland is not direct, it is not an example of an armed conflict and nothing that could put Poland in danger,” Ociepa told Polsat News.
He stressed that “there is a regular war going on beyond our immediate border, rockets are falling, people are dying”, and therefore “incidents can happen; the splinter of this war can touch us.” He noted that no air defense system is able to fight all threats and “we are not able to act before this type of incident.”
Ociepa confirmed that even if the investigation showed that a Ukrainian missile had fallen on a Polish border village, “it did not lower our support for the Ukrainian side”, as declared by Poland and NATO.
The deputy head of the Ministry of National Defense should pay attention to the additional mobile force to defend Polish territory – including airspace – by allies and “unprecedented” NATO pilots on Poland’s eastern border.
He agreed that then massed on Ukrainian cities near the Polish border to warn users of this area, since “we send SMS for much higher trivial reasons.” Thus, it was assessed that no mistake had been made this time, as it was a “one in a million” case that could not be avoided.
On Tuesday, Russian troops shelled Ukrainian cities in a massive attack aimed at an energy official. A few kilometers from the border, the village of Przewodów sent two men. The investigation is being conducted by the prosecutor’s office.
