Throughout France, the department stores of Galeries Layette were in unison, this Thursday, November 17, 2022, to launch the “Planète Sapin” event which accompanied the Christmas festivities until December 31.
“The first thing was to reconnect with our customers,” said Stéphane Piesset, who has been running the Galeries Lafayette store in Dijon since 2016. Indeed, with the health crisis, the event evenings had been interrupted. “It was a wish of our customers to reconnect with this animation program.”
Exceptional shopping
The “best customers” of the loyalty program – benefited from the Exception and Premium advantages –, as well as the customers of the partners were invited to come and discover the “Christmas” of the store and benefited from private sales until November 24th.
Greeted by the jazzy notes of the Marc Esposito trio, the personalities wandered the shelves for an exceptional shopping. At the same time, Véronique Barillot executed a live painting of our own Pompon.
A cocktail dinner was offered by Madame Ping, cocktails by Veuve Ambal and a chocolate and macaroon bar by Fabrice Gillotte.
“Planète Sapin”, an original children’s story
The month of December will be punctuated by activities for children on the theme of “Planète Sapin”, an original tale, written by Claire Castillon and illustrated by Florent Chavouet.
On Elato, the planet of fir trees, we like to observe the Earth. Every Christmas, a fir tree is sent there to carry a characteristic Earth object. This year, Nordmann will make the trip and he will take the opportunity to help Annie whose dad has decided not to celebrate Christmas (watch trailer).
As the sign indicates, “for more than a month, Annie and Nordmann will be settling in the Galeries Lafayette, (…) they will share with everyone the joy and excitement that the end of year celebrations bring. . The Planète Sapin tale invites you to fall back into childhood.
Galeries Lafayette are committed to a solidarity Christmas
“Throughout the Christmas period, the Galeries Lafayette department stores invite you to make a donation to Cékedubonheur when paying for your purchases, rounding the amount up to the next euro. The sum will contribute to financing actions to help hospitalized children,” the group points out.
60 years of the “Santa Claus Secretariat”
On level 1- of the Dijon store, families will find the “Santa Claus secretariat” which celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2022. There, children could send their list of gifts to Santa Claus. In collaboration with La Poste, a collection is made every evening to ensure a response to each letter.
In addition, Santa Claus visits the department store in person during the month of December.
From December 1st, the Advent calendar will allow you to try your luck to win ten prizes every day, until December 24th. The prizes are offered by the partners of Galeries Lafayette.
Return of the illuminated facade on December 2
In a context of energy sobriety, the Dijon store will follow the calendar of illuminations of the City of Dijon. Thus, the facade was decorated and lit exceptionally this Thursday, in connection with the national launch of Christmas. Passers-by will find this highlighting from December 2nd.
