Toulouse-Blagnac airport will turn off the lights at night
Toulouse-Blagnac airport has implemented an energy sobriety plan. In particular, it provides for the extinction of the screens between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.
To respond to the call launched by the government to reduce energy consumption, Toulouse-Blagnac airport announces, this Wednesday, November 16, the establishment ofan energy sobriety plan for the winter period. It translates into 18 measures. The Toulouse airport platform therefore plans to reduce its energy consumption by 3% and that of heating by 20%.
Measures that passengers might notice relate to the optimization of building management. The airport plans to reduce the use of certain spaces, including concourses A and B. Also, the heating temperature will be broadcast at 19°C in occupied premises, 18°C in public areas and common spaces and 16°C during the night and in unoccupied spaces. Moreover, it will be turned on at the latest and stopped at the earliest. Not to mention the replacement of bulbs with LEDs.

The platform also announces “ the reduction and/or the extinction of a large majority of the lights in the terminal, information screens, advertising screens and lighted surfaces between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., and the stopping or limitation of moving walkways and escalators”. Few passengers will be impacted by this measure. For example, only one flight is expected after 11 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, and two aircraft landed during the last night.
In the same way, the airport platform also announces ” the extinction of billboards and signs between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. and the extinction of the lights of the road, the viaduct and the car parks between one and four o’clock.
