The Olympic flame will pass through Pas-de-Calais in 2024!

This is the good news of the day! The Olympic flame will pass through Pas-de-Calais in the first half of 2024. The Department announced it via a press release this Wednesday, November 16, 2022. We tell you more.
“A memorable day”
An Olympic and Paralympic meeting will take place at the Olhain Departmental Park, in Maisnil-lès-Ruitz, next Wednesday. The Department of Pas-de-Calais and the Organizing Committee of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games will jointly sign an agreement for the the reception of the Olympic flame on the territory.
“A memorized day to live in the first half of 2024, the precise date and the different stages of which remain to be specified”, adds the Department. “A popular, festive and meaningful event at the heart of a department labeled Terre de jeux 2024.”
The Parc départemental d’Olhain benefits from this label and hopes to win sports delegations ahead of the Parisian event.
Thierry Rey, Paris 2024 Special Advisor, Jean-Claude Leroy, President of the Department of Pas-de-Calais, Ludovic Idziak, President of the Departmental Park of Olhain, Ludovic Loquet, Vice-President of the Department in charge of sports, and representatives of the Pas-de-Calais Olympic and Paralympic team will be present for the signature.
