Over the long weekend, public transport passengers in Prague face two complications. The transport company is repairing two metro routes at the same time, on lines A and C. People will be able to use alternative transport, the metro will not run again on the repaired sections until Monday.
On route A, the shutdown starts already on Wednesday, December 16, the metro will not run between Skalka and Depo Hostivař stations. As the transport company stated on Facebook, the security system will be modernized.
“As a substitute transport, you can use the regular tram line 7 in the section Strašnická – Depo Hostivař or the established tram line 37 in the route Radošovická/Staré Strašnice – Strašnická – Nové Strašnice – Depo Hostivař.” advises the website of the transport company. From November 17, the exclusion will be extended to the Strašnická station. Buses 125 and 175 will depart from this stop.
From November 17th, Line C will be interrupted between the Pražské povstání and Florenc stops due to the replacement of 490 almost 50-year-old wooden sleepers with concrete sleepers. “This time we will replace the sleepers on the 2nd track in the section between the IP Pavlova and Vyšehrad stations and on the 1st station track in the Muzeum C station. Roughly 80 workers will be involved in changing the sleepers, which is almost entirely manual work,” the transport company informed on Facebook.
Replacement XC bus service will be introduced from Florence to the Prague Uprising and back.
