Prague 4 elected its mayor | PRAGUE | News
The old town hall building in Nuslí welcomed the new mayor of the fourth district on Wednesday, November 9. Ondřej Kubín became the new mayor, who won 23 votes out of 45 votes of the council members present in the secret election. What plans await the new head of Prague 4 City Hall?
“Priority several. I would distinguish between municipal and local, local. The municipal ones mainly concern transport, it concerns the roofing of Spořilovský, which is one of our ambitions, we have had EIU here since 2019, however, the previous management of the municipality did not take any steps in this regard. so we would like to open up this topic. We also have the Budějovická and Kačerov metro stations here, which are, I would say, rather neglected stations, and we would like to improve the public space here for our residents,” said Ondřej Kubín (ODS), mayor of Prague 4.
As such, Prague 4 is recording the new mayor on many topics regarding local priorities, such as the completion of the Hudečkov seniors’ home.
“We already laid the foundation stone last season, so I believe that this season we will be able to implement this construction. Here we have a beautiful biotope on Lhotka, which is, however, open for 3-4 months during the season, which seems to me not enough. The the location is wonderful, whether it concerns only walks for mothers with prams or some outdoor sports activities. Then there is public furniture in general, which we would also like to renovate and gradually renew. We would like to have our Prague 4 not only green, but also flourishing , so definitely support for greenery, whether it’s flowery meadows, flowery strips or planting new trees,” said Ondřej Kubín (ODS), mayor of Prague 4.
As in the previous election period, the new council has nine members and three political entities are represented in it: ODS and TOP 09, which ran in Prague 4 in a coalition called Společné a hnutí ANO 2011.
