ALL ANTWERP. “People have a wrong image of Takeaway” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Thibeau Verheyen (23).
“Working for Takeaway isn’t as miserable as voices make it out to be. People have the wrong idea. For example, we are paid per hour and not per order. If you don’t even have anything to do then it’s no drama.”
“Why do I love doing it so much? I’m originally from Mortsel, but by cruising around the city day in and day out, you get to know places you wouldn’t otherwise. It is also a very social activity, because you are constantly chatting with others.”
“That was important when I started looking for a student job. I also wanted to do something where I wouldn’t sit still too much. Takeaway, which I regularly use for examples, is a good option for me. If you’re not afraid of bad weather and work, this is a great job.”
“Not forever, that is. I aspire to a career in the marketing world. I am in the very last phase of my training as a digital marketer at Syntra. I will bring in my last assignments by December, after that I will look for a permanent job and I will leave the Takeaway ship with a heavy heart.”
