Ottolenghi signs at the City of Leest (Antwerp)
Antwerp
The popular Israeli-British cook Yotam Ottolenghi was a guest for several hours in bookstore Stad Leest on the Oudaan on Monday afternoon. The occasion was the appearance of Tasting kitchen – Extra Tasty, which the chief wrote with his right hand Noor Murad. To keep that cookbook alive, thirty lucky ones sign up for a special lunch at noon. For 90 euros, diners could taste a six-course lunch, picked from the new cookbook, in the presence of the chef. “Once we were aware of Ottolenghi’s arrival, we shared the invitation via Instagram, Facebook and our site at the same time,” says Julie Verheyen of Stad Leest. “All lunch tickets were out in 20 minutes.”
By the way, that lunch was not prepared on site by Ottolen and his assistant, but by catering business De Broers van Julienne. Later in the afternoon, another forty cooking enthusiasts presented themselves. They had pre-signed: not for lunch, but for a signed copy of the chef’s cookbook made from dishes with a Middle Eastern touch. (ID card)
