The Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra triumphs in Vienna: Piva’s docufilm
Last night the first appointment with the Apulian Youth Symphony Orchestra and the presentation of Alessandro Piva’s docufilm, tomorrow the second meeting to be circled in red on the calendar with a great concert event. The AYSO, an orchestra created in 2018 by OrchestrAcademy and composed of young musicians from numerous music conservatories, is the protagonist category at the Kursaal Santalucia in Bari to celebrate the victory achieved last July at the international festival ‘Summa cum Laude’ in Vienna in the ‘ Youth orchestras’.
Last night, ‘Vivere di Musica’, the docufilm directed by director Alessandro Piva on the backstage of the orchestra’s summer tour in Vienna was screened for the first time (a short clip in the video featured). Tomorrow – Tuesday 1 November, at 8.30 pm again at the Kursaal – the concert of the symphony orchestra organized in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Economics of Culture and Valorisation of the Territory of the Puglia Region and with the patronage of the Ministry of Culture.
The conductor of AYSO, Teresa Satalino, will guide the 70 young musicians in the evocative world of The Thousand and One Nights and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. Several Ukrainian musicians will also be part of the orchestra who were able to experience a period of free musical training thanks to the ‘OrchestrAcademyLab Pro’ project, winner of the tenth edition of the ‘Orizzo solidantili’ tender, promoted by the Megamark Foundation of Trani in collaboration with the A&O supermarkets , Dok and Famila.
