Prague councilors today approved the proposal to announce the Sports and Physical Education Support Program in the capital. m in Prague for the year 2023. Its main goal continues to be improving the conditions for the development of sports in Prague.

Most of Prague’s sports associations can calculate for themselves what they will be entitled to in the grant procedure for the following years. With regard to rising energy prices and in an effort to minimize the economic impact of the operators of Prague’s sports facilities, we have increased the amount of funds allocated to the operation of sports venues by 35 million crowns compared to last year,” said the head of the council. m of Prague for the area of sports Vít Šimral.
The program is announced in several areas: Systemic development of sports for children and youth, Investments in sports equipment, Operation of sports equipment, Sports events, Sports for all, Sports activities for the disabled and Machines and sports equipment.
“The basic criterion for the distribution of grants remains the size of the youth sports base so that we adequately provide both large and small sports. The condition for a successful applicant to support sports events is that they set the same amount of prize money and reward for participation for men and women,” added councilor Vít Šimral.
The total volume of approved funds set aside for financing the program will be determined within the approved capital city budget for 2023. The deadline for submitting a grant application is from December 1 to 19, 2022.
