“Right now it is being decided whether the Czechia will succumb to fear and hatred. Public space is occupied by pro-Putin extremists. They shout from the podium about leaning towards Russia for cheaper gas, about sending civilians back to the war zone. They stir up citizens from a difficult situation and exploit their fear for their own political or other benefit,” said the organizers of the event.
The participants of the demonstration will protest against fear and hatred, for freedom and democracy, for the Czechia and Ukraine.

After 15:00, the first groups of people are already forming on the spot. The organizers of the event offer the arrivals badges with the symbolism of rainbow colors and Ukraine. Some protesters come with the European flag.
One of the demonstrators admits under the audio that he was confused by the start time of the event, which was incorrectly listed on Facebook as 3 p.m. “It would be ideal if this demonstration took place already on October 28,” said a protester from Prague.
There are also foreign press crews on site, who respond to some of the arrivals.

Half an hour before the start, large groups of people flow from the lower part of Wenceslas Square towards the statue of St. Wenceslas. There are probably hundreds, maybe lower thousands of event participants already on site.
“We have adopted security measures, after previously operating on a volunteer basis. Recently, we have had to push especially for a gender-balanced type of voluntary groups. We also had to pay for the security service, which is politically non-conflicting,” said one of the project coordinators, Matouš Fendrych.
As with Friday’s demonstration, the police of the Czech Republic will supervise the entire event. Spokesman Jan Daněk said that no special security measures related to Sunday’s demonstration are planned.
