I’m Daniele Medvedev and Denis Shapovalov the finalists of theATP 500 in Vienna, in progress on the indoor courts of the Austrian capital. All easy for the Russian who, after eliminating Sinner in the quarter-finals, got the better of Grigor in the semifinals Dimitrov. A match lasting 86 minutes, won by Medvedev with a score of 6-4, 6-2. As in previous matches played in Vienna, the former n. 1 in the world ended the match without conceding break points. Denis Shapovalov will try to scratch his solidity, in the second final within a month after Seoul. The Canedese beat Borna Coric in due course: 7-6 (4), 6-0. Sinner and Berrettini are out of the ATP Finals
A challenge with a Next Gen flavor, on the other hand, at the ATP 500 in Basel the players currently in better shape on the circuit will face each other in the final: Felix Aliassime auger and Holger Rune. Reduced from the triumphs in the tournaments in Antwerp and Florence, the Canadian eliminated the no. 1 in the world Alcaraz (6-3, 6-2 in just an hour and 22 minutes) and has concentrated the twelfth consecutive victory. Auger Aliassime’s success against the Spaniard has redesigned the Race for the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, cutting Berrettini, Sinner and three other players out of the race. Much more complicated semifinal, however, for Rune who took two hours and won two tie breaks against Roberto Bautista Agut. Several regrets for the Spaniard who in the tie break of the second set found himself ahead 6-2, wasting four consecutive set points. An incredible comeback of Rune, at his No.ona consecutive victory between Stockholm (tournament won last week) and Basel.
