UN wants Ukraine and Russia to extend access to exports and consumption
The organization, resulting from the arrival of supplies to Ukraine and reaching a long duration in early November, reaches the UN mediation that would allow the resumption of the export of Ukrainian consumption across the Black Sea, saying that this is necessary to contribute to global food security.
The UN also proposes for full implementation of the proposal that grain and export supplies from Russia also go to world markets.
“We highlight the real promise of doing this to contribute to food security around the world and alleviate the suffering that is causing this global economic crisis that is causing a billion people,” said UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric.
In accordance with the July 22 pact, Ukraine has resumed the export and production of fertilizers from its black ports, which came after Russia invaded the neighboring country on February 24. the original export deal with Ukraine was for 120 days.
The organization has completed work on extending the time limit for the consideration of the case for up to a year and simplifying the inspection of the UN court, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine. The organization concluded that there were more than 150 ships in line for inspection.
Russia has criticized the readiness, complaining that its own exports are still hampered and Ukrainian grain is being consumed in countries in need in quantity shortages. Moscow may be opposed to extending the export agreement beyond the close of November.
