Russia wants to overthrow the Moldovan government
The FSB is working to overthrow the pro-Western resolution of Moldova. This is evidenced by reliable materials obtained by Ukrainian intelligence, with observation Delight edition of The Washington Post. Moscow, according to Western experts, invaluable to manipulate the assessment of Eastern European countries.
Growth in gas produced by Gazprom is a problem for the government of President Maia Sandu, and protests in Chisinau over rising gas prices, according to the Washington Post, are the leader of the opposition Price Party of Moldova, Ilan Shor, who is currently is in exile in Israel. Shor at the end of the summer announced the supply to Moscow in order to negotiate a mutually beneficial gas contract for the republic.

“Russia does not have much leverage on other countries, such as China, which can block imports, exports, put pressure on other countries. There is little Russia can do. So energy resources, especially gas, are its most important resources with which to use spending on other countries, both openly and covertly,” she said.
Documents and interviews with Ukrainian, Moldovan and Western individuals, like the American publication, testify that the Russian FSB is tens of millions of dollars from a large Russian state-owned company to develop a whole network of Moldovan politicians. The goal is to reorient the country towards Moscow. The Shor party was supposed to be positioned as a party of “concrete action”, populist “in the truest sense of the word”, a party that “changes people’s lives for the better,” wrote Russian strategies in an FSB report covering The Washington Post.
“Voice of America” happened in the party of Ilan Shor with the results to comment on the published information, but has not yet received a response. Moldovan and US officials fear that the Kremlin’s losses in overthrowing the legitimate Moldovan government are part of a decades-long campaign and could only intensify if Moscow suffers more losses in Ukraine.
“As a result, even in Central Europe, Russia does not have much chance of success in terms of pressure on decisions. Thus, only a few countries were in the visibility zone. And Moldova is indeed the first candidate for increasing such pressure. This is not a very rich country, as we know. It is also a country that has struggled in the past in desperation to establish necessity, and deterrence has been greatly eased in the past. And, the president and the government are doing everything possible to eliminate corruption and make the Moldovan democracy stronger. So from the perspective of Russia, there is a slight excess of this government,” says Elizabeth Broe.
Until recently, according to documents, I carefully got acquainted with the Washington Post, the FSB in Moldova relied for a long time on the Socialist Party, infected by Igor Dodon. After the victory of Maia Sandu in the elections in 2020, the FSB developed a new plan – to use the Socialists as an international party in parliament, together with Shor’s party, for a meeting of the Russian Congress. However, Dodon’s party was defeated in the parliamentary elections in July 2021, and that plan came to nothing. The Moldovan authorities fear that organized protests, while relatively small, may intensify with the onset of winter, and that a powerful crisis could be used to overthrow the sentences.
Moldova is expected to become a full member of the European Atlantic Union. In stopping Russia, on the contrary, so that this does not happen.
