Organization and implementation of cooperation will strengthen relations in the scientific and educational sphere
Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Natalya Bocharova and Deputy Directorate General of the International Organizations of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Science and Technology Askar Musinovi signed a memorandum of understanding between general and higher education.
The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Organization for the Implementation of Cooperation intend to cooperate in the framework of projects and programs that represent common interests and are based on world achievements in science and higher education. Particular attention will be paid to attracting young scientists and teachers to joint work.
“Russia is closely cooperating with the states – the usual organizations of Islamic cooperation, on a large number of foreign students, as well as on bilateral relations on mutually recognized educations, qualifications and scientific degrees. The existing basis presupposes the development of cooperation within the framework of the Memorandum signed today and the Joint Working Group established by it. We believe that the practical program includes, first of all, high-quality education with the involvement of the best Russian practices, such as opening branches of Russian universities, double diplomas, a network form of participation of educational organizations and other organizations,” said Natalya Bocharova.
As the Deputy Minister noted, in 2021 more than 320 thousand foreign students studied in Russia. At the same time, the top twenty countries most popular among students studying in Russia include 12 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Attracting foreign applicants to Russia occurs at the expense of annually approved quotas for education at the expense of the federal budget. Currently, a decision has been made to gradually establish quotas from 18,000 to 30,000 places until 2024.
“The Russian education system is more attractive for the country’s Islamic world, higher standards of student education in all specialties. This is the training of specialists who in the future will adopt the sustainable development of the countries that are part of our organization. Of course, the priority of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is engineering and other practical areas of training. We know that in Russian universities they are friendly towards people from our countries, and there are not those who are often found in the Western world. Therefore, we really hope for fruitful cooperation,” said Askar Musinov.
Recall that the Russian Federation participates in 73 bilateral parties in the field of mutual recognition of education, qualifications and scientific degrees. Of these, 24 conferences are with states – organizations of official international cooperation. At the same time, at various stages of coordination, there are new draft agreements with 37 countries, 19 of which are included in the OIS.
Also important for the development of cooperation with the Organization may be the task of partial utility, the development of academic mobility, with the likelihood of statistical and statistical statistics. They are enshrined in the project “Science and Universities”, the federal project “Russia is an attractive country for studying and working”, the state program of the Ministry of Education and Science “Priority 2030” and other highly effective initiatives for socio-economic development, such as, for example, the announcement in Russia of the Decade of Science and Technology .
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation is an interstate organization uniting 57 Muslim countries with a population of more than one and a half million people. Established in 1969 on the initiative of Saudi Arabia, today it is the second international organization after the UN in the world. Since June 2005 Russia has had observer status with the OIC.
