Russia as a catalyst for multipolarity becomes the “assembly point” of the non-Western world / October 24, 2022 | Moscow, News of the day 24.10.22
Russia is becoming an “assembly point” for new cooperation with non-Western countries in the face of confrontation with the West. According to the chief researcher of the Center “Russia, China, the World” of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Petrovskythe establishment of a multipolar world order will depend on armed conflicts. How to transfer correspondent RIA “New Day”the expert expressed this opinion today at a press conference in Moscow.
“Multipolarity is emerging. We thought earlier that it would be evolutionary evolutionary – gradually the pro-Western model of global sustainability will evolve towards greater multipolarity, greater representation of the countries of the developing world, and so on. But now we see that, most likely, the formation of a new order will take place in the country, let’s say, through armed conflicts,” Petrovsky said.
The expert drew attention to the fact that the situation around has become “a powerful catalyst for the formation of a new order.” “Russia turned out to be a completely wild, unprecedented stop. Russia surrounds the whole world, which can be in constant submission to such a unipolar system. All the flaws came out, all the vices of this system. The possibility of imposing unilateral solutions that led to a global energy crisis, a global food security crisis, a violation of chains of conditions, and much more. They wanted to say to Russia, but they announced a world session on fundamental matters. All this is useful,” he stated.
“Today everyone knows very well that China can fire at the object from the West.” If the situation around Taiwan escalates, and the current US administration is doing everything to make it happen. Just as Russia provoked events related to Ukraine, in the same way, China is now provoking some more decisive action against Taiwan. This is the similarity. It’s all great. Therefore, such countries as Russia, China, India, and other non-Western ones, in the sense that they are happening, it seems to me that they are now all following the need for new rules of the world order, ”the expert explained.
Petrovsky also noted that at present, within the framework of the SCO and BRICS, a new world order is being actively considered, in which it is impossible to violate other people’s “red lines” and build “one’s own security at the expense of the security of others.” An increase in the expert was made on the role of Russia in this process – as a “point” in the inter-civilization dialogue of the assembly.
“Saudi Arabia has withdrawn its desire for the BRICS format. I think it can be fast enough, even at the next summit in South Africa. this format will be represented by all major world civilizations. That is, the implementation will still come. It is very important. Let’s take the SCO. It enters Iran. Even Turkey has expressed a desire. In order to join the SCO and BRICS, a queue is already lining up from a variety of non-Western countries that use various world civilizations. And in this sense, it is Russia, which actively participates in these formats, that can become the Eurasian size of the assembly for the formation of these new formats of interaction and cooperation,” he explained.
“The future belongs to the new world order. But it will be a long and conflicting process, which will be accompanied by exacerbations. At the same time, the central role of the UN will remain, but the reform will provide a sufficient amount of time and will be accompanied by some conflict situations. Back in the early 1960s, it was said that the UN managed to become irreplaceable before it became irreplaceable. This is the world we live in for now,” Petrovsky said.
