Constituent council in Černovice: Quittová defended the post of mayor
Among the candidates for mayor was, among others, former Černovic Ladislav Kotík, who was at the same time an opposition representative. “I know that winning an election does not mean being mayor. But things are happening here that I’m not going to put up with. I certainly don’t want to put up with lobbyists or landowners running our borough. The municipal council is also the general meeting of the sand pit, and therefore everyone is responsible for what happens there,” Kotík said on Monday evening. In the vote for the mayor’s contribution, he received eight votes in favor, thirteen deputies abstained.

They won the September municipal elections with their group Together for Černovice, but in the end they will not be part of the ruling coalition. “The fairest solution would be to carry out such maneuvers to announce new elections. I’m not afraid of that, if someone wants to add, they don’t have to contact me,” added Kotík.
One of the points discussed by the new municipal council was the amendment of the charter of Pískovna Černovice. Until now, its executives were the people’s representative Jiří Hasoň and the social democrat Jiří Novotný, but both of them resigned from the representative mandate and the position of executive after the recent raid and the special mayor Quittová.
Opposition representatives tried to withdraw the item from the meeting, but the proposal was not accepted by the council. “To put it simply, you want to convert a sandbox into a city. Without discussing the move with the opposition, residents or anyone else. You don’t seriously think that you will transfer the sandbox to the city in such an unprecedented way,” said opposition representative Ladislav Kotík indignantly at Mayor Quittová and her coalition. If you vote for this, I have no choice but to file a criminal complaint, even one of the representatives said.
In response to a long debate, Quittová decided to change one of the sub-items, she formulated it as the start of negotiations on a change in the charter of the sand pit. After an hour of discussion, the deputies agreed to start negotiations on the possible transfer of Pískovna Černovice to the property of the city.
A pub in Brno has already been fined twice for serving drinks to minors, the ban continues
According to Quittová, however, this is only the will of the municipal district to transfer the Černovice Sandworks under the city, not an official vote on the so-called opening. “I am aware that the sand pit is in very good condition despite the current problems. However, any negotiations must be advantageous for the city district so that it has a certain dividend in this company. The company cannot be without an executive, we are now looking for a suitable candidate, but at the moment everyone must understand that I am only looking for one executive,” said the mayor.

Already on Monday evening, members of the KDU-ČSL city committee stood up for the former deputy mayor Petr Hladík and dissolved the local organization in Černovice, whose chairman was the jailed folklorist and former manager of the sand mine Jiří Hasoň. But party membership does not disappear for people. Hladík provided the members of the city committee with information about the reasons for the searches of his office by the police, who gave me support and trust. “I met the members of the city committee with information regarding the events of the last few days and answered all their questions. I want to emphasize that I am not accused and I have cooperated fully with the police. At the moment, however, the police do not need anything else from me,” said Hladík via press releases.
Mirka Wildmannová from the ČSSD became the first deputy mayor with twelve votes of the coalition, the second deputy mayor is Lenka Sommernitzová from the ANO movement with the same number of votes. Jakub Ostrý is now the third mayor. “I am a speech therapist, so my subject is communication. I would like to contribute to the improvement of communication in Černovice, I am not afraid of a new challenge,” said Ostrý at the constituent assembly, whose responsibility will be transport.
The new management of Černovice was formed only a short time after the Municipal Court in Brno sent seven people to custody on Thursday in the case of the Černovice sand pit and the privatization of city apartments. The case, the main article of which is supposed to be Brno businessman and taxi operator Michal Horký, concerns two branches. Namely, the alleged efforts to control Pískovna Černovice through its economic discrediting, and the privatization of townhouses, where the group was supposed to buy apartments below the market price and then sell them at a large profit.
