Let’s find out more about the summit and what to expect for the future in terms of blockchain, metaverse, sustainability.
Emirates and Israel, cooperation comes from innovation
Finding solutions, creating synergies, creating a sustainable and innovative business that impact and improve everyday life. In this perspective of cooperation and in the light of the Abraham Accords signed two years ago, the presence of Israel at the summit acquires even more significance. I ask the Aviad Tamir, Head of Israel’s Economic and Commercial Mission in the, how relations between the two countries are going and how many partnerships and exchanges have so far been made in the Emirates. “It’s been two years and we started from scratch. Everything is new, in the last year there have been many meetings and the Israelis are learning a lot about the Emirati culture, its rhythms and their vision. The leadership does not look only at the economy of the country but at that of the entire region – Tamir tells me – Many partnerships have been made, we have signed a huge number of Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries, we have opened the Embassy, the Consulate , brought here to assign and delegations and also as many by the Emirates, because in order to do business you need to meet “.
Several Israelis with companies already in the Emirates, some local partners and others in a manner. “In terms of trade between the two countries in 2021 we had 1 billion and 200 million of dollars – continues Tamir – If we look to 2022, and also consider services, we are close to 3 billion dollars which is more than double compared to last year, which highlights a notable growth trend ”. With regard to technologies, the most promising prospects are being looked at. “I think there are many synergies between the Emirates and Israel, because we focus on the one hand on the impact of technologies, from education to water and food security, up to health, and on the other on the digital economy, front on which the Emirates are doing a lot, both in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with the creation of technological services. As the infrastructure grows, it is increasingly necessary to protect it and security is a field in which Israeli companies excel, in fact many are already working in the Emirate territory. The potentials in cybersecurity are as great as they are in the FinTech sector, moving from e-commerce to blockchain “.
Emirates crossroads between West and East
The strategic value of the United Arab Emirates it is also in his geographic location. “What is incredible is the infinite possibilities of collaboration that it expands. From here you can open up to India, also thanks to the strong presence of Indians in the Emirates – he explains to me Aviad Tamir– It is a country that is geographically in the perfect position to strengthen commercial relations by opening up to markets such as the Indian one. From here we are a three-hour flight from India and a three-hour flight from Israel ”. But the developments in terms of cooperation can be truly immense, so much so as to involve Italy in this sense as well. “We see considerable possibilities opening up also with Italy and other countries. We are new to this region and it takes time to build a legacy and consolidate a reputation such as to be able to participate in large calls and projects – Tamir points out- There are over two hundred Italian companies in the Emirates, which know the ecosystem very well , to know the calls and how they work and therefore I see enormous potential for collaborations also with Italy in the Emirate territory. I also see possibilities to combine our capabilities in components such as AI and cybersecurity and the extraordinary Italian expertise in design, manufacturing and innovation ”. For the Head of Israel’s Economic and Commercial Mission in the Emirates, collaborations with theItaly bode well for the future. “There are really good conditions for the future between our two countries too, so much so that we are also working a lot with Italian diplomacy in this regard” concludes Tamir.
