“We agreed with SPOLU that Praha Sobě and SPOLU will put together a program team that will analyze the program in detail. Apart from some small things that must be discussed in detail in those teams, we have not identified any dramatic differences,” said the mayor of Prague 7 and leader of Prague Sob Jan Čižinský. By the end of this week, he said, the program authorities should be resolved.
“It would be relatively small teams so that we would be able to talk about these problems and get some opinion and with that the approval was expressed. We will still arrange when the teams would meet,” said deputy, leader of TOGETHER and former mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS).
Both parties also discussed possible mechanisms of the functioning of the city council. “However, we did not discuss it in detail, that would follow only after the program and any possible closer agreement,” Čižinský.
However, representatives of SPOLU stated that they were pushing for a coalition in which there would be only three entities. According to Svoboda, in the event of forming a coalition, they claim at least six seats in the 11-member council. “Primarily, we want to form a coalition based on the government plan, but if there are problems, we will form a coalition anyway, from three parties,” said Svoboda.
Svoboda also said that Praha Soba did not make any personnel demands at the meeting. He was alluding to the dispute between SPOLU and the Pirates, who demand that there be no criminal prosecutions in the council, when SPOLU member Jan Wolf (KDU-ČSL) will stand trial in the case of municipal sports subsidies. According to SPOLU, unfairly, and therefore reject the Pirates’ request.
The coalition SPOLU won the municipal elections in Prague this year, winning 19 mandates in the 65-member council. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The third Pirates will have 13 representatives. Čtvrtá Praha Sobě has 11 mandates, five representatives will have STAN in fifth place. Sixth is the SPD with three mandates.
