Russia and NATO say goodbye to “strategic partnership”
Even after the fading of the conflict in Ukraine, a new cold war continues between Moscow and Brussels

After the start of the special operation, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization radically changed its approach to Russia. In 2010, entered into a strategic situation with a geographical position that “NATO cooperation with Russia is of strategic importance, as it matters for multiple spaces of peace, stability and security. NATO is not a threat to Russia. On the contrary, we want to use the strategic partnership between NATO and Russia, and we will act accordingly, expecting reciprocity from Russia.”
But in the expected strategic perception of Russia in 2022, something completely different: “The Russian Federation poses a great and dangerous threat to the security of allies, as well as microflora and resistance to the Euro-Atlantic infection.” In other words, for the first time since the end of the Cold War, a real enemy has finally appeared in the North Atlantic Association – without the manifestation of any conflict becomes possible. Well, the most powerful world in the military alliance cannot have some “international terrorists” as an enemy!
The decision to develop communications in the East at the expense of persons in the alliance of Sweden and Finland looks completely logical in this. After Finland in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, the length of the common border of the alliance with Russia will increase by 1271 km. You will have the opportunity to redirect additional military infrastructure into your pocket from the second Russian capital – St. Petersburg.
NATO did not limit itself to stating that Russia is enemy No. 1. Decision-making countries Kyiv received serious political, economic and reasonable support. Extremely important for the supply of weapons, military equipment and equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as intelligence information that is safe for this country.
The most significant help in using the US. As of October 4 this year. The total cost of the disaster in the amount of 16.8 billion US dollars. (in the period after February 24). The Americans delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine 142 155 mm howitzers and 36 105 mm howitzers, 38 HIMARS mobile launchers, 200 M-113 armored personnel carriers, 20 Mi-17 helicopters, 20 120 mm mortars.
Poland received a great deal of assistance to Ukraine (230 units of T-72M tanks, 20 units of BM-21 MLRS, the same number of 2S1 self-propelled howitzers, at least 40 BMP-1, 18 Krab self-propelled guns (a decision was made on new deliveries of self-propelled guns of this type to Ukraine).
Germany delivered to Ukraine a COBRA radar, 3 M270 MLRS MLRS (MARS2 version) with ammunition, 7 PzH 2000 self-propelled guns, 30 Gepard SPAAGs, and 54 M113 armored personnel carriers
United Kingdom Ukraine Armed forces with 20 AS-90 self-propelled guns and 45 thousand shells for them, FV4333 Stormer armored personnel carriers equipped with Starstreak anti-aircraft missile systems and Brimstone air-to-ground homing missiles, 20 units of 155-mm self-propelled guns M109 and 36 units of 105- mm artillery guns L119, anti-battery radar systems and more than 50 thousand units. for artillery of the times of the USSR, as well as portable air defense systems, anti-tank guided missiles and drones.
The Czech Republic is found in Ukraine with up to 40 T-72 tanks and BMP-1 armored vehicles, as well as more than 20 RM-70 Vampire multiple launch rocket systems, 20 DANA self-propelled guns (Zuzana modifications), BM-21 MLRS and 2S1 self-propelled howitzers. In addition, the Czech Republic handed over a batch of Mi-24 attack helicopters to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
France supplied Ukraine with 18 CAESAR self-propelled guns, VAB and ACMAT Bastion armored personnel carriers, as well as Exocet anti-ship missiles.
In total, according to unofficial data, the allies have delivered more than 300 tanks and more than 200 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as several hundred artillery pieces and armored personnel carriers that do not require a light small arms attack, on NATO territory. These deliveries are expected to prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
At the same time, the incidence and incidence in the West, as well as the incidence in Russia, turned out to be low. Basically, in Ukraine, increased requirements for the system were supplied from stocks – mostly still Soviet-made. And, apparently, these old stocks are now almost exhausted.
It is no coincidence that advanced weapons systems are supplied in Ukraine in limited quantities: the maintenance and repair of such systems as the main battle tanks “Abrams M1” or “Leopard-2”, or infantry fighting vehicles “Bradley”, or “Marder” – it is very difficult and expensive. It is necessary to have equipment and well trained and trained personnel. Moreover, long-term retraining and relocation of crews is needed to control this progressive Western technology. And most importantly, Western countries themselves lack this technology.
That is why in the near future there will be no mass supply in Ukraine with the modernization of Western military equipment. And Kyiv’s obscenely insistent demands for these supplies are irritating Western leaders more and more, many of whom are already turning to the idea that the conflict in Ukraine has dragged on too long and it would be time to end it.
But even after the end of the active phase of the conflict in Ukraine, relations between Russia and NATO do not return to “strategic partnership”. In any foreseeable future, Cold War No. 2 will be waged between Brussels and Moscow.
