Russia and China will soon sign an agreement on the creation of their own scientific lunar station (ILRS). This was announced by the head of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatoly Petrukovich at the XIII Moscow Symposium on the Great Britain of the Solar System.
“Even last year, a memorandum was signed between Russia and China on plans for the development of plans for the implementation of projects for a scientific lunar station. Cooperation is unfolding, joint scientific groups are working, and our agreement on the implementation of this program will be signed in the near future,” he said.
Over the conduct of the annual event and study of the work of the two countries of the selective initiative of priority scientific topics and cover the relevant expert subgroups. Among them there are subgroups dealing with problems of lunar topography and geology, studies of the internal structure and space around the satellite, as well as studying the possibility of using lunar telescopes and deploying other scientific instruments, including those for searching for dark matter.
In the first phase of the project, Russian-Chinese specialists use the missions of the Chang’e and Luna programs to study the environment and collect data for the development of the project. In particular, the Luna mission will choose an ideal place to build, so that natural resources and interesting places for research are within reach. Construction completed by 2035.
Remember, China recently successfully tested a hydrogen-oxygen engine for the super-heavy launch vehicle “Changzheng-9”, which will be carried out in the Republic for launches to the Moon and Mars.
