Lyons 3rd. La Cambuse, the new Cours Lafayette grocery store
On a ship, the lazarette is the part where dry foodstuffs were kept so that they were protected until they arrived safely. This is in a way what Anne Gallet (founder of the tea shop As an asidehe in the 7e arrondissement) and Rémi Roux, an epicurean who has navigated in wineries and restaurants, are doing in their grocery store, which opened at the end of September.
So of course, there are products that the two accomplices know like the back of their hands, namely a selection of around thirty teas and around forty wines, but also spices (black pepper, wood-smoked salt beech, curry, zaatar, ras el hanout), Italian olive oil from ODS.

There are also plenty of little nuggets that the duo went to discover at the producers live. “I love spending my weekends outside Lyon and visiting farms, going to producers… For each product, I have a story to tell”Remi smiled.
The favorites of La Cambuse
During his visits, he particularly fell in love with the charcuterie from the Montchervet farm in Amplepuis, which makes the “best sausages” and “Coeur de crème” cow cheeses, with a medallion of butter in the centre. Not to mention the sweets cruzilles from Clermont-Ferrand, vegetable spreads GourmetDelice d’Yssingeaux, or the Dagobert cafés which get their supplies from very small producers, the Rucher de Macameli in Fleurieux-sur-l’Arbresle which makes its honey by having its hives transhumed, and breadsticks from the Barge biscuit factory at Point du Jour (Lyon 5e).
But Rémi wants to be reassuring: “we don’t want a high-end delicatessen positioning, we want to remain accessible”. On the wine side, he would also like to bring bottles from Slovenia, the country where he lived for two years and discovered his estates, which has vineyards in full expansion. But in the meantime, we can already participate in the tasting workshops of the products of the shop, from January 2023.
