Shaliny in Brno is painted by apprentices. The transport company hopes they will stay with us after school Transport | News | Brno Gossip
Twenty-four future painters are learning the trade in the workshops of the Transport Company of the City of Brno (DPMB). Pupils of the Integrated Automotive High School started their year-long practice in Medlánky in Brno. They add a hand to the work when modifying the bodies of public transport vehicles.
The Brno transport company has been complaining about the lack of workers in blue-collar professions for a long time. That is also why he began to attract potential employees from the Královopol high school. The carrier started cooperation with institutions years ago, when it approached apprentices from the field of auto mechanics. Newly, it also offers year-round participation in work in workshops for young car painters. “In this way, you gain experience in real operation and I believe that they will stay with us after completing your studies,” said the DPMB director Miloš Havranek.
Apprentices spend every second school week on public transport vehicles. You will try painting the interior of car bodies, including air conditioners, for new vehicles, while the components will also be supplied to the workshops by the Brno secondary school. They will gain practical skills from the experience, the best can also receive a scholarship from the transport company.
The management of the secondary school also praises the new opportunities for pupils. “The scope of DPMB’s repair operations enables the practice of whole groups of pupils under the guidance of a professional training teacher. This form of cooperation is effective and makes it possible to influence the course and possible future employment of graduates from both partners.” said the director of the Integrated High School of Automotive Milan Chylík.
