October 9th. Interfax-Russia.ru – Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the workers of the developed economy and processing industry on their professional holiday, noting that Russia is successfully addressing food security issues and increasing export opportunities.
“We fully provide the domestic market with a sharp, important type of products necessary for people, we successfully solve food security issues and, moreover, we increase export opportunities, we are ready – I emphasize this especially – we contribute to overcoming the high level of food, the consumption of aid to the poor, developing countries,” he said Sunday in a video message on the occasion of Economic Development Day.
The President added that “a record grain harvest is expected this year – about 150 million tons, including about a hundred million tons of wheat.”
“Good indicators for other crops, such as sugar beets, soybeans, sunflowers. Livestock production is growing,” Putin stated.
“Working under the conditions of an unprecedented sanction requirement poses new challenges for the agro-industrial complex. We will solve their complex ones, with support from the state, and use the restrictions imposed by the president for our own development,” he said.
